Everything looks like its dying off, but its not.

This is a crucial time for your garden.

Everything is getting ready for the dormant winter period yet it still needs nutrients and water up until later fall.

Same goes for dividing and moving plants.  Give them a good soak the day before doing the work.   They will thank you for it.
